Cragheart - The Cragheart just really does not synergize at all with the Brute. The Cragheart can easily hurt melee allies and makes it harder for melee allies to move around the battlefield with his obstacles. The Brute would rather a Tinkerer if he wanted the Cragheart primarily for healing/utility and a Spellweaver if he wanted the CH for aoe …This matters because the Cragheart has cards which buff either melee and ranged attacks, and I need to know which I should be using in combination with this attack. Lvl ups gets more complicated but as a base line I'd take: lvl2: explosive punch. Lvl 3: Blunt force. It's also great to see interesting melee builds - I enjoyed playing melee Cragheart in GH1, but the build was super dependent on an item only some campaigns would even find. It got frustrating in later campaigns when I was interested in doing that sort of build again and just couldn't because they didn't have the item. I played my Summoner in a 4 player Gloomhaven group that already had a tank, a melee damage dealer and a crowd controller. With this build, I prioritized ranged summons and ranged damage abilities with the occasional melee summon along for the ride.Brute, Spellweaver & Cragheart: Building further on the strongest 2 player party this option adds some extra durability and damage through the Brute to ensure that the higher enemy count is kept away from your damage focused Spellweaver.
