The have crazy POI issues due to redesigned recoil reducing chevrons in the stocks. It is a design flaw that benelli refuses to address. A bunch of us had them - were missing birds like crazy and ended up dumping them after reading about this. Most of us shoot Franchi Affinity 3.5’s or Berettas or Versamax’s now and are happy.

The Affinity has most but not all the bells and whistles of the Montefeltro , otherwise the Affinity would cost as much as the Montefeltro . Both are owned by Beretta , however the Affinity is made in Italy from a factory owned by Benelli . Benelli is a much higher quality that franchi. But franchi is a solid budget semi auto. Benelli will stand behind there product until your grand children own than gun. Thats the major difference between higher end brands and middle of the road brand. Higher quality control and better service if things break.

From everything I have read and seen the Franchi Affinity and the Benelli M2 are pretty much the same gun. Actually made in the same factory. The stock is the main difference. The M2 is a great gun, but when you factor in the similarities and price, I would go with the Affinity., I have a Affinity 3 and an A400(and a Benelli M2). The Affinity 3 is strictly for hunting for me: it’s got a 26” barrel and is nice and light for quick shots, great fit and finish. If you want inertia and are just starting out, the Affinity 3 or the Benelli M2 are the 2 I recommend most. Just my 2 cents since I own both a Benelli M2 and a Beretta A300 Outlander. (not the sporting) I have shot recreational skeet with both of these shotguns and the Beretta is much softer shooting with 1 1/8 ounce target loads., Franchi is great quality and value.
