Jeep wrangler overheating while driving

My '99 2.5l randomly shuts off while driving. There is no warning, no bucking, no loss of engine speed or power, just shuts off as if you turn the ignition off. Battery and terminals are good, no MIL or stored codes. Does not seem like a CPS or O2 sensor issue like some of the other descriptions. I'm leaning towards PCM or ignition switch.

Mar 25, 2019 · Sorry to say that is pretty normal for a 3.6 JK. 203-240 temps are a regular occurrence and my JK overheats pretty much every time I go off road. Computer will turn on the fan at 226F. While replacing that found that the oil cooler was also leaking oil. I also replaced upper and lower hoses, thermostat, waterpump, reservoir and 3 caps.What I mean by heat tabs is the engine rebuilders place these in the engine somewhere to save their ass through the warranty. Meaning they Will know if I ran the jeep while hot because heat tabs will be melted and thus voiding my warranty. I hope this hasnt happened. It's probably not the thermostat, or else it would be overheating while driving, too. Check coolant, add if needed, and then look to the fan clutch. With the engine off, spin the fan with your hand pretty hard.

It was fine when driving at slow city speeds. I have purged all of the air out of the system while the jeep was inclined. Did that 2 nights in a row until I got no more air out. Water pump is working, thermostat is opening when it should.
