Hey im a little late to the party but for a spread build look into the Sinister Volley 2, Shell Studed S armor with Rhenoplas S gloves, and a trinket with artillery. Gives spread, normal, and piercing skills, Longer range on your shots skill, and sticky ammo bonus. Use Dango for resistances and try not to get hit too often.

Basically the title. I dont see any big benefits for LBG, especially for elemental pierce builds. Dereliction / Dragon Conversion charms are likely better than AB / Spare Shot ones, freeing an armor piece from that. Especially Dereliction because Dragon Conversion can be augmented. The gun's damage is imporved via Thunder Attack, Resentment (synergizes with Safi'jiiva's passive) and Critical Boost.This means that you need 3 armor pieces to get the +20% damage of SU3, which also means sacrificing the ability to get AB4, CB, and some form of crit. In comparison you can easily get Pierce Up 3, AB4+, CB2, and plenty of crit with narga LBG (w/o charms BTW). I don't see a way of building Spread effectively without lucky charm rolls. Your DPS will vary depending on the monster though. For pierce 3 grab the last boss LBG and then when you're up in higher MRs pickup the malzeno LBG for pierce 2 rapid fire. Narga lbg is what you want to focus on if you can build it. Magnamalo lbg is good with a wide variety of ammo types. The Izuchi lbg is easy to build and a good stepping stone to either Narga or Magnamalo. Pick armors that have crit eye or attack boost., I disagree with the sentiment that the LBG special is lacking compared to the HBG specials. The mines well placed can net hundreds of damage many times in almost every fight while being on a far more mobile weapon. You're hitting for damage multiple times on a pierce shot and basically machine gunning., You shouldn't be bringing a sticky build for the siege, as it does much less damage and you could cause accidental KOs before area 3.
