Collaboration. Launched in 2020, the EMPOWER Center is a new collaboration between NYC Health + Hospitals – Gouverneur, a New York City hospital located in the Lower East Side, and Sanctuary for Families, a service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking and related forms of gender-based violence.

In addition to specialized treatments, STEPS and Sanctuary will each offer two to three cycles of Parenting Journey, a program which helps parents build stronger families by developing the inner strengths, life skills, and networks of resources they need to succeed.
