I am attempting to become the Thane of Riften, and have completed numerous quests around Riften (such as the Skooma quest, 3 dragon hunts, dispute between Sapphire and guy but am still not being offered the dialogue to engage becoming a Thane.Maven won't make me thane of Riften. I did all the Skooma quest things, she even mentionted if I did it would be a step in the direction of getting a title (thane, i'm assuming?). I helped Ingun. Typically you need to help 5 citizens in the major cities (3 in the minor ones) in order to qualify for thanedom in that hold. Usually there's a misc. objective to help you keep track of these things, but iirc Riften's a bit unusual in how it structures its thanedom quest.
